IronGuard Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 11, 2026

This privacy policy applies only to the Android app IronGuard (package name com.ironwoodapps.ironguard), published by IronWoodApps.

1. Summary

IronGuard does not collect, upload, sell, or share your personal data with IronWoodApps. App lists, permission states, risk scores, scan history, and settings stay on your device. IronGuard does not create an IronWoodApps user account and does not ask you to sign in to use the app.

2. Who is responsible

IronWoodApps is the developer and publisher of IronGuard on Google Play. For privacy questions about IronGuard, email support@ironwoodapps.com.

3. What IronGuard does

IronGuard is an on-device privacy and app-risk scanner. It reviews apps installed on your phone, permission grant state, and related risk signals so you can understand what apps can access and clean up riskier installs.

4. Information processed on your device

IronGuard processes the following information locally on your device:

  • Installed application names, package names, and icons
  • Declared and granted Android permissions
  • Privacy / risk scores and related explanations generated by the app
  • Scan history and in-app settings you choose (theme, notifications, scan schedule, etc.)
  • Optional storage estimates and large-file hints when you use Private Data features and grant the related Android access

This information is stored in Android on-device storage belonging to IronGuard. It is not transmitted to IronWoodApps servers as part of a scan.

5. Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, email, phone number, or contacts for an IronGuard account
  • We do not upload your app list, permissions, scores, or screenshots to IronWoodApps
  • We do not use advertising SDKs or sell data to data brokers
  • We do not build cross-app advertising profiles

6. Internet use and third parties

IronGuard may use the network only for:

  • Risk database updates (Pro): downloading a published risk / tracker list so scores stay current. That download does not include your app list or scan results. The list may be fetched from a public URL operated for IronGuard updates (for example a GitHub-hosted JSON file).
  • Google Play Billing: purchasing, restoring, and managing IronGuard Pro. Payment card details are handled by Google, not by IronWoodApps. Google’s processing is governed by Google’s policies.
  • Opening links you tap: such as this privacy policy in a browser, or system settings screens.

Google Play may also process install, crash, and subscription information under Google’s terms as the store operator. IronWoodApps does not receive your payment card number.

7. Permissions and device access

IronGuard may request or use the following Android capabilities:

  • Query installed apps — required to list and score apps on your device.
  • Internet — risk-list updates and Google Play Billing, as described above.
  • Notifications — optional alerts for scheduled scans or new risky installs you enable.
  • Usage access (optional) — estimates app storage on the Private Data tab.
  • Media / storage access (optional) — helps surface large files you may choose to delete; IronGuard does not upload those files.
  • Accessibility — Uninstall Assist (optional, Pro) — after you start an uninstall, can help confirm the system uninstall dialog. It is not used to read passwords, scrape other apps for advertising, or exfiltrate screen content to IronWoodApps.

8. Subscriptions and payments

IronGuard Pro is sold as a Google Play subscription. Billing, receipts, renewals, taxes, and cancellation are handled through Google Play. To cancel or manage a subscription, use Google Play → Payments & subscriptions (or the subscription controls Google provides on your account). IronWoodApps does not store your full payment credentials.

9. Data retention and deletion

  • On-device IronGuard data remains until you clear app storage or uninstall the app.
  • Uninstalling IronGuard deletes the app’s local data on your device.
  • Because IronWoodApps does not host your scan data, there is no IronWoodApps cloud copy for us to delete.

10. Security

We design IronGuard so sensitive scanning stays on-device. No method of electronic storage is perfectly secure, but we do not operate an IronGuard user-data backend that stores your app inventory or permission maps.

11. Children

IronGuard is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through IronGuard, contact support@ironwoodapps.com and we will help address it. Google Play age ratings and family policies may also apply to how the store distributes the app.

12. Your choices and rights

  • You can deny optional permissions in Android settings; some features will be limited.
  • You can turn off notifications in IronGuard or Android settings.
  • You can clear scan history or uninstall the app to remove local IronGuard data.
  • You can manage or cancel Pro through Google Play.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, delete, or obtain information about personal data. For IronGuard scan data, that information is on your device under your control. For any other privacy request, email support@ironwoodapps.com.

13. International users

IronGuard is designed for on-device processing. If you use network features (risk updates or Play Billing), those connections are processed by the relevant service operators (such as Google or the host of the published risk list) under their terms and locations.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this IronGuard Privacy Policy. When we do, we will change the effective date above. Continued use of IronGuard after an update means you accept the revised policy. Material changes may also be noted on ironwoodapps.com or in a store listing update.
