One-way vs two-way folder backup

Pick the mode that matches the job: archive one direction, or keep two working folders equal.

One-way backup

Source wins. Use this for “copy Documents to D:\Backup” or “push a project folder to a NAS share.” Destination changes do not write back to the source.

Two-way sync

Both sides can change. Use this when you edit the same tree on two machines or drives and want them reconciled. Always run Analyze so you understand adds, updates, and deletes before Sync.

FAQ

Which mode should I use for a USB backup?

Usually one-way from your working folder to the USB drive, so the stick stays an archive of the source.
